John M. Pumphrey: An experienced trial attorney who is relentlessly dedicated to protecting the rights of those who have been injured by the negligence of others.
John M. Pumphrey focuses his practice on personal injury matters, including: medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, automobile and commercial motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.
Mr. Pumphrey has significant trial experience. Before joining Soloff & Zervanos, he was employed as a defense attorney for several years and tried dozens of medical malpractice and complex personal injury cases involving wrongful death and catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Pumphrey is a 1996 graduate of Widener University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and was one of the first law review members of The Widener Law Symposium Journal. He is also a 1993 graduate of Temple University where he received his undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with honors.
Mr. Pumphrey was one of 28 individuals appointed by Governor Edward G. Rendell to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Medical Malpractice Insurance Crisis Task Force in November of 2002. The Task Force was charged with introducing comprehensive measures to address the issues of providing economic relief for vulnerable physicians and hospitals and improving the availability of health care in Pennsylvania. Mr. Pumphrey served on the Task Force until its conclusion and final report in 2004.
Mr. Pumphrey is currently enrolled in the renowned Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law LL. M. in Trial Advocacy Program. The program is an intensive one-year course, focusing exclusively on the refinement and sharpening of courtroom skills and techniques. The program is conducted by nationally recognized trial lawyers, law professors and communications experts. Mr. Pumphrey will complete the program and receive his LL.M. degree in Trial Advocacy in May of 2008.
Mr. Pumphrey practices law and has tried cases in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a member of the bar in both states. He is also admitted to practice in the local Pennsylvania and New Jersey Federal Courts.
