People from all walks of life can become injured in car accident. One moment an individual may be taking their usual drive to work, the next moment they may find themselves on the shoulder of a highway with a wrecked vehicle and an intense pain in their neck. Whether it is a spine, brain. or other type of injury that results from an accident, victims have legal rights, including seeking compensation from those who harmed them. Attorneys are available to help these victims make sense of what their rights are and advise how to best act on them. One man may now need to consider his legal options.

Recently, a police officer in Philadelphia was involved in a hit-and-run accident. According to reports, the officer was responding to a call at the time he was struck. A man jumped into a vehicle and began driving down the street in the wrong direction, resulting in him striking the police officer.

Reports say neighbors arrived to help the police officer before emergency responders arrived on the scene to take the officer to a hospital. The 26-year-old police officer had to be rushed to the hospital following the crash. He suffered a broken leg and a severe head injury. Witnesses saw children playing near where the accident occurred and was thankful that none of them were involved in the accident. The suspect fled the scene.

Sometimes, car accidents involve drivers who deliberately act criminally. In other cases, an accident may involve a negligent driver who, though unintentionally caused a wreck, can still be held liable. Whatever the cause of a car wreck, victims have rights. They may be able to pursue compensation from the driver who was found to be at fault, which can provide much needed financial relief.
