John Pumphrey has been a civil trial lawyer for 24 years. He specializes in litigating cases involving victims of crime and sexual assault, construction injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home malpractice, product liability, commercial and motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability. He has successfully tried dozens of cases over the last two decades, and many of his cases have resulted in seven-figure verdicts and settlements for his clients.
Prior to joining Soloff & Zervanos, P.C., John was a medical malpractice defense attorney for ten years, where he gained and honed his trial skills while successfully defending physicians and nurses in hundreds of medical malpractice practice cases throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties, cases involving practically every branch of medicine.
John was the youngest lawyer appointed by former Governor Edward G. Rendell to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Medical Malpractice Insurance Crisis Task Force in 2002, an entity charged with creating comprehensive measures to address the issues of improving the availability of health care in Pennsylvania.
After practicing for several years, John returned to school and obtained his Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in Trial Advocacy from the Temple University – James E. Beasley School of Law in 2009.
John has been honored by his peers from 2014 – 2022 as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Philadelphia Magazine. He is also member of the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, an organization reserved for the top 1% of attorneys in the United States, in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. He is also a member of the top 100 trial lawyers of The National Trial Lawyers, a professional organization composed of the premier trial lawyers from across the country who exemplify superior qualifications.
