Glen Mills School Forced To Close Amid Child Abuse Allegations

We are learning that the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) is revoking the license of Glen Mills, an all-boys school in Philadelphia.

What Happened Here?

Documents released show decades of documented abuse at Glen Mills. The school, founded in 1826, has recently come under fire after some high-profile injuries.

• In 2017, a teenager was removed from Glen Mills after counselors stepped on his face and broke his jaw.
• During the summer of 2018, two counselors were caught on surveillance video abusing a boy. One counselor slammed the boy to the floor and choked him while the other punched the boy in the face. In this case, both counselors were arrested.
